About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordinating care with other health team members. Responsibilities

  • Achieve appropriate assessments of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate).
  • Elicit and evaluate information from other members of the interdisciplinary team: patient, family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, others.
  • Create and collaborate on individualized patient care plans with active involvement from the patient, family, team, and physician, including needed education.
  • Direct interdisciplinary care teams via delegation, coordination, and collaboration as appropriate. Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
  • Manage priorities and coordinate patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources.
  • Evaluate patient responses to interventions through review of goal achievement, clinical outcomes, patient, and family satisfaction. Revise the plan of care as necessary and reassess changes as appropriate.
  • Promote the nursing profession and participate in the development of others. Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, comply with regulatory standards, practice within the scope of licensure, provide accurate and timely documentation, and understand the legal implications of care delivery.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
  • BLS for healthcare providers certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 12 months of experience required for RNs with less than 12 months of experience.
  • Physical requirements include ongoing need for visual and reading information, frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, manual dexterity for complex and delicate equipment manipulation, and the ability to lift and move patients and supplies.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $37.45 - $57.29. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
