Registered Nurse Operating Room Team Leader - Center for Ortho Surgery - Full Time
About the role
The Perioperative Team Leader is a member of the interdisciplinary team. The Team Leader oversees the interdisciplinary plan of care, ensures consistent delivery of expert nursing care, provides staff education, consultation, and leadership. They supervise staff to ensure care delivery according to departmental policies and procedures. The Team Leader supports performance improvement initiatives and leads other members of the patient care team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee interdisciplinary plan of care and ensure consistency with medical treatment plan.
- Provide expert nursing care and staff education.
- Ensure consistent delivery of care according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Support performance improvement initiatives and lead other members of the patient care team.
- Assist Surgery Center leadership with resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, and developing/implementing performance improvement activities.
- Orient new employees.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey and current BLSHCP.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience preferred; 2 years previous specialty experience and/or demonstrated competency preferred.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents will be trained appropriately and skills will be required within 30-60 days from date of hire.
- Prior Ambulatory/Operating Room Experience Preferred.
- BLSHCP required; ACLS preferred; CNOR preferred for certain specialties.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others and adjust to changes within daily schedule of activities.
