Registered Nurse - Operating Room, Per Diem

About the role

This role involves providing professional nursing care in a high-acuity surgical environment within an academic medical center. The nurse collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to support a broad range of specialized surgeries, including transplant, trauma, robotics, and cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using evidence-based practices
• Promoting patient safety and ensuring efficient care delivery
• Advocating for patients and families, facilitating communication, and coordinating discharge planning for seamless transitions
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and leadership activities, including potential charge nurse duties
• Supervising lower-level staff and contributing to unit operations
• Fostering a collaborative, respectful work environment
• Patient assessment, care planning, procedure execution, medication administration, and safety compliance

Qualifications

• RN licensure
• BLS certification
• BSN preferred
• Specialty certifications preferred
