Registered Nurse Operating Room

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room, ensuring the cleanliness of the environment and confirming that all required equipment is functioning properly.
• Aids in preparing the patient for surgery, including verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, assisting with positioning the patient on the operating table, and completing necessary pre-operative procedures.
• Documents pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record.
• Maintains a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

• Current and valid state RN License.

• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
