About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and working in a supportive operating room environment.
Responsibilities
- Affirmatively assesses physical, social, and psychological status of patients.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Coordinates care with other health team members and ensures patients have necessary education and referrals.
- Directs interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
- Provides or delegates care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
- Evaluates patient responses to interventions and revises the plan of care as necessary.
- Promotes nursing profession and participates in the development of others.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
- Must obtain BSN within four (4) years of hire if not already completed.

- Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in a surgical setting is beneficial.

Pay
$38.37 - $57.29 per hour, actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
Schedule
4, 10-hour shifts per week following completion of orientation. 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM, based on department needs. Call requirement: 30-minute response time. Call Shifts: Approximately 1 night per week, 1–2 weekends per 8-week schedule period. Frequency dependent on staffing levels.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles when driving a vehicle.
