Registered Nurse Operating Room

About the role

At CommonSpirit Health, we partner with Holy Cross Hospital Salt Lake to provide high-quality healthcare. This role is based in the Operating Room and involves circulating and scrubbing on various surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Promoting optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process and adherence to patient care standards, guidelines, and state nurse practice act.
• Demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
• Assisting with case setup, circulation, and scrubbing on multiple surgical specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Robotics, ENT, Bariatrics, Podiatry, Plastic Surgery, Pain Management, and Endoscopy.
• Providing support during same-day surgery and IV therapy sessions.
• Acting as an advocate for the patient before, during, and after surgery.
• Assisting with room turnover and restocking for the next day's cases.
• Assisting with break coverage and supply restocking as needed.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or endorsed by a school of nursing preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Nursing skills and knowledge specific to the specialty area.
• RN License required; Current state nursing license or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.

Qualifications

• Medium Work - Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
