Registered Nurse - Oncology

Position Overview: This role is within the Oncology department, primarily based at UAB St. Vincent's East, with a full-time night schedule involving 3 shifts of 12 hours each. The unit, 5 East, is a 22-bed facility caring for cancer patients and managing various medical-surgical conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes, along with common surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities Coordinate staffing and provide leadership to ensure quality patient care and clinical objectives are met.Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing/support staff during shifts, including performance evaluations.Assess patient care needs, develop and distribute care assignments, and evaluate care effectiveness.Address patient care concerns and contribute to staff hiring, training, and development. Qualifications Current RN licensure from the Alabama Board of Nursing.BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS may be required within six months depending on the unit.Diploma from an accredited nursing school and at least one year of relevant experience.
