Registered Nurse - Oncology

Position Overview: This role is within the Oncology department, based on a 22-bed unit specializing in cancer patient care and medical-surgical conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes. It involves full-time night shifts (7pm - 7am) at UAB St. Vincent's East, offering benefits like paid time off, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and support programs. Key Responsibilities Coordinate staffing and provide leadership to ensure quality patient care.Assign, educate, and monitor nursing/support staff; contribute to performance evaluations.Assess patient care needs, develop care plans, and ensure appropriate care delivery.Evaluate patient outcomes, address care issues, and respond to care-related complaints.Assist in hiring, training, and staff development as needed. Qualifications Current RN licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.BLS certification within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS may be required within 6 months depending on unit.Diploma from an accredited nursing program and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
