Registered Nurse - Oncology

About the Role

This position is within the Oncology department, based on a 22-bed unit specializing in cancer patient care and medical-surgical conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes.

Schedule

Full-time night shifts (7pm - 7am).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and provide leadership to ensure quality patient care.
• Assign, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff; contribute to performance evaluations.
• Assess patient care needs, develop care plans, and ensure appropriate care delivery.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, address care issues, and respond to care-related complaints.
• Assist in hiring, training, and staff development as needed.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS may be required within 6 months depending on unit.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
