Purpose
The Clinical Nurse/Registered Nurse works in a collaborative environment within the Observation Unit to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. This position focuses on treating the whole person.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology, med/surg, and hospice patients.
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if certified), and monitor for side effects.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Participate in discharge planning, pain management, and palliative care coordination.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the care team.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN) preferred. If the BSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain one within a specific time frame.
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification; additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems.
Qualifications
Preferred: BSN or MSN.

Pay
Pay Range: $38.92 - $55.68 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.
Schedule
Full-Time / 36 hours weekly / Night Shift
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland. Must be authorized to work in the United States without work visa or sponsorship.
