The Clinical Nurse

The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Registered professional clinical nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
