Registered Nurse - North 3 (Med/Surg/Telemetry) Per Diem

Position Summary

Works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Functions as a Team Leader. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all nursing activities related directly or indirectly to patient care for a group of patients within a specific clinical area.

Job Duties & Essential Functions

• Assesses the patient’s condition and nursing needs; coordinates nursing care activities with other health disciplines involved in the treatment effort to relate and integrate the nursing regimen with the treatment plan for patients.
• Develops a written individualized care plan which includes teaching needs and discharge planning.
• Administers direct care when professional nursing skills and judgment are needed. Administers medication.
• Participates in unit or hospital-based quality assurance activities or committees to contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession at SBSH.

Required Experience And Qualifications

• Graduation from a School of Nursing.
• Current Licensure to practice in New York State.
• Current BLS & PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS provider certification from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.

Physical Demands

• Standing, walking 90% of the time.
• Lifting patients with or without assistance.
• Pushing heavy objects.
