Registered Nurse - NICU

Find your calling at Mercy! Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process. They evaluate and coordinate care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, uphold patient rights and confidentiality, and ensure alignment with organizational standards and values. Unit Details: The Level III NICU is a 24/7 multidisciplinary unit offering advanced neonatal care for infants as early as 26 weeks gestation. Certifications such as NRP and STABLE are required; national certification (RNC-NIC) is encouraged. The nurse may also float to other women’s and children’s units. Responsibilities include: Managing complex neonatal therapies, maintaining appropriate patient ratios (3-1:1), and providing family-centered care. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN)Valid RN license in the practicing state or compact licenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other certifications like ACLS, NRP, PALS, and unit-specific credentials may be required or encouraged Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs regularlyProlonged standing and walking during shiftsAbility to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat Why Join?
