Registered Nurse NICU
About the role
Provide expert, direct nursing care for critically ill newborns. Continuously assess, monitor, and interpret complex physiological data. Proactively adjust care plans in real-time, ensuring that every shift in a neonate's status is met with an immediate, expert response. Serve as the central coordinator for a massive multidisciplinary team to ensure a unified, "whole-baby" approach to healing. Coordinate complex discharge planning, transforming parents into confident caregivers for their medically fragile infants.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert, direct nursing care for critically ill newborns.
- Continuously assess, monitor, and interpret complex physiological data.
- Proactively adjust care plans in real-time, ensuring that every shift in a neonate's status is met with an immediate, expert response.
- Serve as the central coordinator for a massive multidisciplinary team to ensure a unified, "whole-baby" approach to healing.
- Capture and document patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Coordinate complex discharge planning, transforming parents into confident caregivers for their medically fragile infants.
Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
- Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Skills
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other relevant software.
