About the role
24-bed neurosciences unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders. Neurological conditions include acute and stable traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizure, and acute inflammation or infections of the CNS. Neurosurgical patients include aneurysm repair, CSF leaks & lumbar drains, post-op neurosurgical and spinal patients.

Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care on a neurosciences intermediate unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytic abilities.
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the specific clinical area.
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS).
- Emergency Communications Registered Nurse certification.
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN).
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
