About the Unit
CDH Neuro Intermediate (3B) is a 24-bed neurosciences unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders. Neurological conditions include acute and stable traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizure, and acute inflammation or infections of the CNS. Neurosurgical patients include aneurysm repair, CS leaks & lumbar drains, post-op neurosurgical and spinal patients. We are proud to be in the country's top decile of patient satisfaction!
Schedule
- Full-time Days, 7:00am–7:30pm
- Rotating weekends
Responsibilities
- Reflect the mission, vision, and values of NM, adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards
- Function as a clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation
- Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Strong analytic abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Neurosciences
Additional Preferences for Emergency Room and Pediatric Emergency Room
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
- Emergency Communications Registered Nurse
- Certified Pediatric Nurse
- Certified Emergency Nurse
