About the role
This position is referral eligible and currently qualifies for a new hourly location differential in addition to standard shift and holiday differentials. IU Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our Neurologic Trauma Unit 5 North Neuro Trauma Surgical—a fast-paced, 25 private-bed brain and spinal cord injury and insult unit. We are a Medical-Surgical unit and considered the best and most complex neuro-trauma unit in the State of Indiana.
5N focuses on a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses including, but not limited to, TBIs, cerebral hemorrhages, spinal cord injury, tumors, seizures, stroke, and disease processes that affect central nervous system function (meningitis, hydrocephalus, etc.).

Requirements
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
