Short Description
The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.
Overview
The healthcare professionals in Cooper’s Neuroscience Unit provide expert neurological care in both a 16-bed ICU and a state-of-the-art Neuro Interventional Suite, which together form an integral part of Cooper Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our nurses ensure seamless continuity of care for patients across a wide range of neurological diagnoses, using the most advanced technology and providers. We also expand our capabilities to care for neurological patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The healthcare professionals take tremendous pride in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, we provide outreach to improve community health through stroke and neurological education.
Experience Required
- A minimum of one year or more of acute care RN experience in an inpatient setting is strongly preferred.
Education Requirements
- Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
Licenses/Certifications Required
- CURRENT NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
- CURRENT American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
- SPECIALIZED CERTIFICATIONS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN SPECIALTIES (I.E. ACLS, NALS, PALS).
Special Requirements
- FULL TIME, 7PM-7AM, WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS WITH ROTATION.
