Registered Nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) - Full Time (Night Shift)
About the Role
Penn Medicine is dedicated to our tripartite mission of providing the highest level of care to patients, conducting innovative research, and educating future leaders in the field of medicine. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a level 3, 13-bed unit specializing in the care of newborns born as early as 28 weeks. We care for infants with complications, genetic disorders, or prematurity, as well as those in need of respiratory support such as Nasal Cannula, High Flow Nasal Cannula, CPAP, SiPAP, and SIMV. Our NICU collaborates with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and has a Neonatologist in house 24/7. If an infant is born outside of our criteria, we stabilize and transfer them to another facility.
Schedule
Required to work three night shifts (7PM-7AM) per week, including every third weekend.
Responsibilities
- Assist with procedures, including central lines and spinal taps.
- Monitor vital signs and administer medication.
- Assess enteral intake and recognize changes in assessments that may indicate life-threatening diagnoses.
- Provide family-centered and developmental care to create a soothing environment for infants.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of.
- 3 years of NICU experience required; 5 years preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required (can be obtained on site).
- S.T.A.B.L.E certification required (can be obtained on site).
- Active NJ RN license required.
- National Nursing Certification preferred.

Pay
Salary range: $49.96 - $68.99/hour. Successful candidates are provided a specific rate based on experience and education.
