About the Role
The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse (DPC RN) is a licensed professional who demonstrates proficiency and mastery of core competencies: assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership, and service. This role delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing and promoting evidence-based practice standards of quality, safety, and service.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care interventions.

Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred; see additional qualifications for exceptions).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital environment.
Additional Qualifications
- RNs hired prior to 2/1/2012 (South), 10/1/2017 (Bethesda), 10/1/2023 (Boca), or 7/1/2018 (Fishermen’s) are not required to have a BSN to continue in their non-leadership role.
- RNs hired after the above dates with an Associate’s degree must complete a BSN within 3 years of hire.
- RN must complete a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent for independent practice.
- Additional certifications may be required per department standards (e.g., PALS, ONS-Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card).
