About the role
The Mental Health Unit at St George Mental Health Service is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a supportive team committed to delivering recovery-focused care.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, supervised care for consumers when community treatment isn't an option.
- Engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Use basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Deliver high quality patient care in Mental Health at a post graduate level.
- Assess and manage risk within the mental health environment.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- High level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Understanding of recovery principles and commitment to consumer, family, and carer participation and care.
- Experience and ability to deliver high quality patient care in Mental Health at a post graduate level.
- Experience in the provision of care and assessment and management of risk within the mental health environment.
