Registered Nurse, Medical–Surgical/Telemetry- Per diem, Evenings

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates in the Nursing Process: systematically assesses the health status of the patient, analyzes and interprets data, and makes nursing judgments regarding care plans.
• Coordinates and implements nursing interventions, evaluates outcomes, and updates care plans as needed.
• Collaborates with other healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Provides patient and/or patient representative health teaching.
• Maintains competencies required for the specific patient population served.
• Adheres to standard precautions and assumes the role of the charge nurse as necessary.
• Participates in unit-based Q.A. studies and meetings.
• Attends and/or participates in in-house or outside training programs.
• Assists in the ordering and upkeep of supplies as assigned.
• Provides care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition.
• Performs care for a variety of medical/surgical patients with a range of diagnoses.
• Affects care issues related to operative/procedural/medical procedures.
• Assists in managing care issues related to patients undergoing telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition.

Qualifications

• Recent acute Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association before hire.
• Registered Nurses in the ICU require ACLS certification before hire.

Pay

Pay Range: $36.00 - $90.14
