Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the Nursing Process: systematically assesses the health status of the patient, analyzes and interprets data, and makes nursing judgments regarding care plans.
- Coordinates and implements nursing interventions, evaluates outcomes, and updates care plans as needed.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Provides patient and/or patient representative health teaching.
- Maintains competencies required for the specific patient population served.
- Adheres to standard precautions and assumes the role of the charge nurse as necessary.
- Participates in unit-based Q.A. studies and meetings.
- Attends and/or participates in in-house or outside training programs.
- Assists in the ordering and upkeep of supplies as assigned.
- Provides care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition.
- Performs care for a variety of medical/surgical patients with a range of diagnoses.
- Affects care issues related to operative/procedural/medical procedures.
- Assists in managing care issues related to patients undergoing telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition.
Qualifications
- Recent acute Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association before hire.
- Registered Nurses in the ICU require ACLS certification before hire.
Pay
Pay Range: $36.00 - $90.14
