Registered Nurse - Medical Unit (Nights)

About the role

The Staff RN under the Charge Nurse's supervision provides professional nursing care using the nursing process. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. They serve as a patient advocate and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Conducts ongoing assessments guided by physiological and psychological principles
• Establishes nursing diagnoses and patient goals based on assessment data
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement the Plan of Care
• Administers medications appropriately and follows infection prevention protocols
• Communicates effectively with physicians and other team members
• Teaches patients about their care and promotes their independence
• Demonstrates adaptability, problem-solving, and professional behavior
• Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns
• Participates in continuous quality improvement and service excellence programs

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing
• One year of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Current RN license in Texas
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment
