About the role
Provides clinical leadership in an acute inpatient setting, ensuring patient/family-centered care by applying evidence-based nursing practices in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, recognizing changes in status and prioritizing care accordingly.
- Develops, updates, and communicates individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Delivers direct patient care within the scope of practice, delegating tasks appropriately and monitoring care quality.
- Ensures patient safety by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe environment.
- Utilizes performance indicators and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Provides patient and family education, evaluating understanding and encouraging participation.
- Maintains professional licensure, reflects on practice, and ensures compliance with policies, regulations, and standards.
- Acts as a patient advocate and care coordinator, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Minimum of one year RN experience or completion of a recognized nurse residency program; LPN experience or diploma accepted in certain cases.
- Current RN license recognized in the practice state.
- Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills.
Night shift; non-management role; focused on delivering exceptional nursing care in a telemetry department, with responsibilities extending to documentation, education, and continuous improvement efforts.
