Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Unit
Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg unit. The hospital offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including an Outpatient Clinic with more than 20 physicians across nine specialties. A $16 million renovation added a new inpatient wing, surgical suite, and diagnostic imaging departments, with enhancements to the emergency department and laboratory. Wheatland is a close-knit community 70 miles north of Cheyenne, with access to lakes, Laramie Peak, Medicine Bow National Forest, and an easy drive to Denver and the Rocky Mountains.
About the role
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide age-appropriate care.
Responsibilities
- Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
- Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe.
- Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members.
- Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s
