Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

About the Role

Provide patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Center with a focus on cardiac care in Med Surg/Telemetry. Manage conditions such as altered mental status, CHF, stroke, orthopedic and surgical cases, DKA, and infections.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit.
• Float within scope as needed to support hospital operations.
• Chart accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 (possibly 1:6-7).
• Complete all required training modules prior to start date.
• Comply with the hospital’s zero-fault attendance policy.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent hospital Med Surg experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Self-rated proficiency (3+) in cardiac and dysrhythmia management.
• Familiarity with mental health patient care.
• Valid nursing license.
• Locally available with the ability to start promptly.

Schedule

• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• No block scheduling or specific time-off requests accepted.
• Maximum of 5 days off permitted.
