Role Overview

The nurse provides direct and indirect patient care in various settings, collaborating with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes. They deliver high-quality care through critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate practice, while respecting patient autonomy and dignity. The role includes performing general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritizing care, along with other assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients accurately based on their medical condition.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, understanding their use.
  • Provide age-appropriate care, including basic self-care activities.
  • Develop and evaluate patient and family teaching plans.
  • Utilize nursing knowledge for treatments and services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical skills.
  • Address psychosocial needs and coordinate with social services for discharge planning.
  • Practice cost-effective and resource-efficient care.
  • Prioritize patient safety and minimize risks of harm.
  • Commit to lifelong learning in nursing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
  • Computer literacy is required; additional certifications such as ACLS/PALS are preferred.
