Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical

Role Overview

The staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients across all ages, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. They ensure adherence to organizational policies, maintain standards of practice, coordinate patient care activities, and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans
• Coordinate and deliver quality nursing care
• Maintain compliance with policies and standards
• Obtain and update required licenses and certifications
• Complete specialized certifications as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy)
• Report and address high-risk situations, including abuse, neglect, or potential abduction

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred
• No experience required for new graduates; hospital experience preferred
• Current RN licensure in Georgia or multistate licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Additional certifications depending on specialty area (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy)
