Registered Nurse - Medical - RN

About the role

The position is located at Joseph 3A/B (JO3A/B), Hospital Internal Medicine (HIM) services. It is a medical unit that cares for patients with various acute or chronic health issues, often requiring complex discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice across different settings and care levels.
• Delegating patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, financial considerations, and resource availability.
• Maintain excellent communication skills, mentor, and teach effectively.
• Participate in leadership roles such as preceptor, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Drive a personal vehicle as part of the role responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range is $43.84 - $66.84 per hour. The compensation model is designed to reward experience, education, and dedication to Mayo Clinic.

Schedule

Full-time schedule with 48-72 hours per pay period, 8/12 hour shifts, and variable weekend schedules.
