Registered Nurse - Medical Psychiatric Program - RN

About the role

The position is located at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. It is a full-time role with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Treatment utilized includes care for medical illnesses, psychotherapy, individual supportive therapy, group therapy, behavior modification and management, cognitive behavioral therapy, pharmacology, electroconvulsive therapy, etc.
• Works in a closed 14-bed adult unit specializing in the care of medically compromised and geriatric patients in a psychiatric setting.
• Oversees a separate procedural area that conducts inpatient and outpatient ECT under the supervision of 3 East staff.
• Coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
• Possesses excellent communication skills; is skilled in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
• One year of professional RN experience is required.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date.
• Additional Specialty Certification/training as Required By The Work Area.
