About the Role

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. Responsibilities include following established policies and procedures, communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors, and providing excellent customer service to all levels of staff, management, and physicians. Unit Overview

Kelemen 10 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with various needs and disease processes. Both North and South 10 have Telemetry capabilities for patients. Each side houses 36 patients, with a maximum unit capacity of 72 patients.

• South 10 includes a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit (INCU) embedded within the 36-bed unit. INCU has critically care-trained RNs who support patient needs, including care for ventilated patients.
• South 10 also features 2 negative pressure isolation rooms with an anteroom, used for specific isolation needs.

Multidisciplinary rounds occur Monday – Friday, involving the patient in their care and allowing the team to collaborate on the best possible care and appropriate discharge planning. A pharmacist with an office on the unit assists RNs to help avoid delays in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients using the nursing process.
• Supervise and coordinate care delivery, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Communicate openly with internal customers, supervisors, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, management, physicians, and patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate on patient care and discharge planning.
• Utilize unit resources, such as the on-site pharmacist, to optimize patient care.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
• Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
• Certain specialties may require advanced certification (e.g., ACLS, NALS, PALS).
