Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Nights

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide expert nursing care during hospital stays, assessing, managing, and coordinating patient activities with a patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments, including admission, transfer, post-op, and discharge planning, documenting findings accurately.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans based on assessments, diagnoses, lab data, and physician orders, setting short and long-term goals.
• Delivers and documents nursing interventions, administers medications, monitors IV fluids, and collaborates with healthcare team for coordinated care.
• Recognizes patient condition changes, implements timely nursing actions, and involves families in decision-making.
• Provides specialized care for high-risk patients, including restraint and pain management, and reports abuse or safety concerns.
• Ensures professional accountability by adhering to policies, maintaining certifications, and staying current with evidence-based practices.
• Promotes a respectful, collaborative work environment, demonstrating empathy and effective communication with colleagues, patients, and families.
• Maintains safety and infection control standards, manages equipment properly, and completes mandatory training.
• Delivers exemplary service by ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and timely communication, fostering patient satisfaction and trust.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in applicable states with BLS certification.
• Ability to perform age-specific and culturally competent care for adult and geriatric populations.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills; adaptable to changing demands.
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and professional development.
