Registered Nurse - Maternity Outpatient Triage - P/T with Benefits Days
About the Role
This position is located in a 36-bed unit specializing in Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk Antepartum, a 7-bed triage area, and 2 Operating Rooms. The unit is designated as a Baby Friendly Institution. The role focuses on the triage area within Maternal Child Services Outpatient Triage.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing practices according to the most up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to ensure safe and excellent individualized patient care.
- Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status, care, and treatment plans.
- Administer medication using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe medication delivery.
- Perform ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation for patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions, and evaluation of rendered care.
- Provide patient and family-centered education aimed at optimizing health, wellness, and disease management.
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary discharge of patients to ensure safe transitions and continuum of care.
- Care for Labor and Delivery patients and High Risk Antepartum patients.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
- BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
- A minimum of 2 years or greater experience in maternal child services in a hospital setting, including labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum, postpartum, and well-baby nursery is required.
- Obstetrical triage experience is a plus.
- BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
- ACLS preferred, must obtain within 6 months.
- NRP preferred, must obtain within 6 months.
- Inpatient Obstetrics and/or External Fetal Monitoring Certification is a plus.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong sense of accountability for improving patient and caregiver lives, focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and passion for delivering high-quality care based on patient focus.
Pay
The minimum base pay for this role is $45.14 per hour. The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Some positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts, as well as performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
