About the role
Join our team as a Maternal Child Float Tier 1A RN! In this role, you’ll provide compassionate, family-centered care across our Maternal Child units based on patient care and staffing needs. This float position offers the opportunity to support multiple areas within Maternal Child Services, caring for mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients while collaborating closely with families and the multidisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of patients and families and provide appropriate education, referrals, and resources to support continuity of care
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process while demonstrating the clinical knowledge and skills required for the assigned specialty
- Utilize critical thinking and independent judgment while maintaining responsibility and accountability for assigned patients
- Provide holistic, age-appropriate care that considers physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety needs
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and care provided
- Promote patient and workplace safety by following established policies and procedures and preventing and promptly reporting errors, accidents, infections, or other safety concerns
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma from an RN program; BSN degree preferred
- Experience: One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical proficiency preferred
Skills & Certifications
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa and Illinois; must apply within 30 days for licensure in secondary state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 120 days of hire and maintain certification
- Must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 120 days of hire and maintain certification
