Registered Nurse - Maple Valley
About the role
The Registered Nurse or BSN is responsible for coordinating and implementing health screenings, special health care procedures, and providing training on various health-related topics. This role also involves administering medication, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in staffing and IEP conferences.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and execute a health screening plan.
- Design and implement special health care procedures.
- Train on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection-control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR, and other in-service as needed.
- Administer medication and other health care procedures.
- Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
- Oversee all Special Health Care Plans (SHCP). Ensure they are completed correctly and all necessary supplies are available.
- Notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
- Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
- Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Collaborate with the building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe, and clean environment.
- Maintain CPR training instructor certification.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student, and staff personally identifiable information.
Requirements
To qualify, candidates must be licensed as a registered nurse in Missouri and possess experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities. The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.
Qualifications and Experience
In addition to the above requirements, the position may accept other qualifications and experience deemed suitable by the Commissioner of Education.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $46,272 - $49,872. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed this range.
