Schedule

  • Full-time positions: 36 hours per week on Evening/Night shift (7pm - 7am), three 12-hour shifts.
  • On-call/PRN positions: minimum 32 hours per month, including 2 weekend shifts.
  • New hires must complete three weeks of orientation (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm) followed by four weeks of job shadowing, all within 3 months of start date.

Pay

  • Starting pay: $51.336/hour.
  • Additional $3.00/hour facility differential pay.
  • Shift differentials up to $2.50/hour for new hires not currently employed with the State of Nebraska.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, person-centered care that respects each patient’s dignity and individuality.
  • Apply clinical expertise in a fast-paced psychiatric environment with a diverse patient population.
  • Collaborate with doctors, specialists, and other nurses to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current in nursing practices.
  • Take initiative in daily responsibilities and provide leadership to Mental Health Specialist teammates.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Consideration given to applicants within 90 days of completing their RN program and/or obtaining RN licensure.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Able to attend 3 weeks of new employee orientation during day hours.
  • Able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.

Qualifications

  • Previous nursing experience is a plus, but passionate new graduates are welcome.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Clear and compassionate communication with patients, families, and healthcare team.
