Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant

About the role

Provides professional leadership, advanced knowledge and support in the practice of lactation management to new mothers.

Responsibilities

• Advise and educate new mothers on breastfeeding techniques and issues.
• Assist with the assessment and management of breastfeeding problems.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Conduct training sessions for other staff members on lactation management.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
• Two (2) years of related mother baby nursing experience.
• Current Registered Nurse license to work in Arizona.
• Lactation Counselor (IBCLC) certification (can be in progress).
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of lactation science and best practices.
• Experience with patient education and counseling.
