About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. This role operates within the LDRP department, which encompasses labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum services. Additionally, there is a 5% Wasatch Back differential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Achieve appropriate assessments of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as necessary.
- Seek and evaluate information from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patients, families, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, and others.
- Collaboratively develop and implement individualized plans of care, involving patient, family, team, and physician input, and prepare patients for additional support needs once current care goals are met.
- Direct interdisciplinary care teams through delegation, coordination, and collaboration, ensuring care is delivered according to the plan of care, guidelines, and professional licensure provisions.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revising plans of care as necessary and reassessing changes as required.
- Promote the nursing profession, participate in its development, and adhere to legal and ethical standards, regulatory standards, and professional licensure provisions.
- Apply patient care delivery skills, nursing fundamentals, interdisciplinary teamwork, documentation, professional etiquette, accountability, patient care coordination, communication, patient evaluation, critical thinking, and other relevant competencies.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- One or more years of RN work experience, especially in labor and delivery (L&D) settings.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, or willingness to obtain within four years of hire.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a current RN license, BLS certification, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Experience in L&D settings is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $35.22 - $53.29, with actual rates dependent upon experience.
Schedule
Full-time, 36 hours per week, with variable shifts.
