Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse at Garnet Health Medical Center, you will:
- Provide a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.

- Adhere to the New York State Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and Garnet Health’s Nursing Strategic Plan.

- Recognize and address patient and staff safety, reporting potentially dangerous situations and taking action to minimize risk.
- Complete annual mandatory training, including BLS, and additional AHA training as required for specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Active New York State Nursing License in good standing.
- Associate, Baccalaureate (preferred), Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics and/or EFM preferred (based on specialty hours).
- 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience (preferred).
- Completion of the following training/certifications:
- STABLE course
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- NRP upon hire or transfer
- Evidence of Fetal Monitoring course completion prior to orientation completion
- C-EFM within 18 months for new hires/transfers
Physical Demands
- Considerable standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Considerable visual demands.
- Must be able to perform RN essential physical functioning as determined by Employee Health/Pre-Screening Assessment.
- Must participate in Safe Patient Handling Initiatives.
- For patient transferring tasks requiring lifting more than 35 lbs of a patient’s weight, assistive devices must be used.
- Moderate to frequent heavy ergonomic stressors (lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients).

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in an environment with uncontrolled interruptions.
- Sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
Working Conditions
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
- Exposure to unpleasant patient elements (e.g., blood and other potentially infectious materials).
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including emergency and crisis scenarios.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, respirators, or full-body suits.
- Potential contact with chemical, radiological, physical, electrical, mechanical, or other workplace hazards.
- Adherence to the New York Department of Labor/Nursing Licensure Board recommendation on the 16-hour work limit.
Schedule
Variable shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays. Per Diem employees must work a minimum of one day per month, including one weekend day every other schedule, and one major and one minor holiday per year to maintain eligibility for continued employment.
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $59.50 hourly. The range reflects compliance with New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Factors such as location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity may be considered when determining compensation.
