About the role
The interventional radiology nurse is a registered professional who plans and renders nursing care within the radiology unit, providing direct patient care, maintaining clinical records, and assisting the radiologist and technical team before, during, and after interventional procedures across imaging modalities.
Responsibilities
- Plan and render nursing care in the radiology unit
- Provide direct patient care
- Maintain clinical records reflecting patient condition, medication, treatment, examination, and progress
- Assist radiologist and technical team before, during, and after interventional procedures
- Organize procedure schedule
- Prepare the room for procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures
- Obtain required patient health information needed to perform exams
- Perform other duties to efficiently maintain and run the Interventional Imaging department
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing required
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware or valid temporary permit
- Previous Cath Lab/IR or Critical Care experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
