Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

About the role
This position offers opportunities working either 3 or 4 eight-hour shifts per week, with typical hours of 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Specific schedules may vary based on department needs. Prior IR experience is strongly preferred; however, we welcome nurses who are motivated to develop their skills in this specialty and bring a strong clinical foundation.
As an IR Nurse, you’ll support a wide range of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while working closely with physicians, technologists, and fellow nurses. This role includes an on-call requirement with a 30-minute response time, making reliability and teamwork essential.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for an assigned group of patients
- Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment and patient safety needs
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, treatment plans, and disease management
- Utilize pharmacology knowledge to safely administer medications in accordance with UHS policies
- Support effective resource use, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
- Adhere to all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies
- Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council activities, and improvement initiatives
- Contribute to peer review processes and integrate evidence-based practice and nursing research
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees, students, and clinical observers
- Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support safe, effective patient care

Qualifications
- Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
Licensure & Certifications
- Minimum Required: Current New York State Registered Nurse License
- Preferred: CCRN certification
- Additional skills certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC)
Pay
Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience
Sign-On Bonus: Up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria.
