Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit
About the role
The Registered Nurse position at Straub Benioff Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers the opportunity to provide professional and compassionate nursing services to the Straub community. The ICU provides therapeutic nursing and medical care for critically ill patients and those being closely monitored to prevent deterioration of their condition. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care under the supervision of a charge nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Implement and monitor treatments and medications
- Provide ongoing patient education and support
- Evaluate patient progress and make adjustments to care plans as necessary
- Document all patient interactions and care activities accurately and timely
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as appropriate
Requirements
- Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR cards
- One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in critical care
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred
- Two (2) years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Intensive Care Unit preferred

- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of critical care nursing practices and procedures
