About the role

We are looking for a Full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. This position involves visiting clinical sites, teaching both lecture content and clinical rotations (which can be days, evenings, weekdays, and/or weekends), and participating in professional development to maintain licensure and stay current with college updates.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies/techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms; assist with program data collection to meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assist with updating and maintaining student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs
• Actively participate in committees as assigned, prioritizing teaching responsibilities
• Take responsibility for staying current with college updates and maintaining CE hours to ensure renewed licensure

Requirements

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing
• 3 years of nursing experience with a BSN or 6 years of nursing experience with an Associates Degree
• Experience demonstrating current knowledge of nursing practice, ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, and ability to work independently
• Broad knowledge of nursing sciences and successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab
• Proficient, strong verbal and written communication skills
• Current knowledge/experience in a clinical setting
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification
• Must obtain ATI (Assessment Technology Institute) Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek)

Pay

$104,000–$115,000/year
