The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is a distinguished 17-bed facility renowned for its exceptional expertise in managing complex medical cases. Responsibilities

• Provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process;
• Delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes;
• Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice;
• Provides patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs;
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior;
• Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model.

Requirements

• Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
• A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Skills

• Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions, lifting and carrying objects, and working rotating shifts.
