About the role

The Registered Nurse II position at MUHA's ICU (Intensive Care Unit) under general supervision provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. This role interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.

  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, lifting and carrying 50 lbs., pushing/pulling objects, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand or at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, maintaining good olfactory sensory function, being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, dealing effectively with stressful situations, and working with energetic enthusiastic individuals.
