Job Summary/Purpose
The Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
About the Role
Serving a wide range of patient care units across the downtown campus, including Cardiac, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Transplant, Oncology, and General Medical and Surgical floors, the team offers flexible scheduling and additional float differential pay.
Responsibilities
- Floating between specialized units across both Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower
- Broadening clinical skills and working with various patient populations
- Making a meaningful impact in multiple areas of care
Requirements
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of BSN within 2 years for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one year of adult acute care work experience as a registered nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred

- Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors, work outside in temperature extremes, work from elevated areas, work in confined/cramped spaces, bend at the waist, twist at the waist, squat, perform pinching operations, perform gross motor activities, perform fine manipulation, reach overhead, perform repetitive motions, lift and carry 50 lbs., push/pull objects, lift/lower objects 50 lbs., exert up to 50 lbs. of force, maintain 20/40 vision, correct, in one eye or with both eyes, hear acuity, with correction, match/discriminate between colors, determine distance/relationship between objects, depth perception, good peripheral vision capabilities, maintain tactile sensory functions, maintain olfactory sensory function, be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required, work rotating shifts, work overtime as required, work in a latex safe environment
