About the role
The Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to patients in a variety of settings, including but not limited to general surgery, medicine, and neuroscience patients.
- Carefully monitors patients' conditions and reports significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Ensures patient safety through adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Documents patient care accurately and comprehensively according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Participates in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
- Minimum training and education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred, with Associate or Diploma degree in nursing required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.

- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing "pinching" operations, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. unassisted, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand or at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, having good peripheral vision capabilities, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, and being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.

Pay
