About the role
The staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. They operate within organizational policies, ensure adherence to standards of practice, and coordinate care activities among staff to deliver quality nursing services.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care, ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate and oversee patient care activities within assigned units.
- Maintain professional growth and accountability through ongoing education and certification.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- New graduates eligible; hospital experience preferred.
- Valid RN license in the relevant state; Basic Life Support certification required.
- Additional specialty certifications may be necessary based on unit, such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or chemotherapy/bio-therapy certification.
- For specific units, certifications like Certified Dialysis Nurse or specialized pediatric and obstetric certifications are preferred.
