Responsibilities

  • Perform routine nursing procedures and clinical techniques.
  • Assess, observe, and screen patients; monitor and record vital signs.
  • Performs therapeutic measures and report patient conditions to the physician or other healthcare provider.
  • Refer patients to the physician as appropriate and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Provide phlebotomy services.
  • Assist with the distribution of patient medications as required.
  • Maintain required patient records and Department of State Health Services documentation.
  • Utilize and manage the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations and university policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree. Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. No prior experience required.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses: Licensed RN and CPR certified.
