About the role
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Global Patient Services department. This position will be Monday-Friday and the shift will be based off of the operational need.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizes and implements the nursing process to deliver safe care: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborates with family, team members, and other caregivers to coordinate all facets of patient care, planning with the multidisciplinary team.
- Manages care for complex patients and anticipates needs, delegating care as necessary to other team members.
- Documents outcomes and revises patient care provided according to hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
- Models professionalism and leadership, including interacting with parents/patients and colleagues with respect and dignity, anticipating patient/family needs, and providing accurate patient status reports.
- Chairs and/or participates in unit/departmental Shared Governance councils, facilitates change, and measures outcomes.
- Ensures staff incorporates professional standards of practice and regulatory requirements into nursing care provided.
- Manages own time to efficiently provide direct/indirect care, monitors supply usage, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Oversees clinical care provided at the Specialty Care Site, creates staff assignments, and coaches/supports clinical staff.
- Responds to patient medical and behavioral emergencies, acts as Safety Coach, and leads incident investigations and remediation plans.
- Acts as Infection Prevention and Control lead at the site.
Qualifications
- Technical Diploma Nursing - Required
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Preferred
- At least three (3) years pediatric experience - Required
- Computer Competency: Basic use of a computer, Microsoft Office, web browsing, intranet search, document access, shared network file space, patient facing technology, clinical communication systems, and clinical decision support tools.
- Information Literacy: Determines the nature and extent of clinical information needed, accesses information effectively and efficiently, evaluates information critically, and incorporates it into clinical practice.
- Information Management Literacy: Navigation of the electronic health record system, ability to locate and review specific patient data, use of clinical decision support tools, understanding policies and procedures related to clinical information systems, and ability to collect clinical data using quality improvement tools.
- Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania), Nursing Temporary Practice Permit (Pennsylvania), Registered Nurse (New Jersey), Nursing Temporary Practice Permit (New Jersey), Basic Life Support (BLS).
Skills and Abilities
- Basic use of a computer (mouse, keyboard, printer, USB ports).
- Basic use of Microsoft Office (Word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and Skype).
- Web browsing, intranet search, document access.
- Use of shared network file space.
- Basic use of patient facing technology (e.g. IV pumps, point of care devices, CR monitors).
- Navigate clinical communication systems.
- Ability to locate and review specific patient data in various clinical information systems.
- Effectively use clinical decision support tools.
- Understand policies and procedures, confidentiality, security, and privacy regulations regarding the use of clinical information systems.
- Ability to collect clinical data using quality improvement tools.
Benefits
Salary range: $83,700.00 - $106,700.00 Annually. Factors such as skills and experience could result in an offer above the salary range noted in this job posting.
