Schedule

  • Shift: Day Shift, 8 Hours (0700-1530)
  • Scheduled Hours: 24 per week
  • Weekends: Every Other Weekend
  • Holidays: Every Other Holiday

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
  • Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
  • Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
  • Directs, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
  • Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
  • Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
  • Develops, implements/coordinates, and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
  • Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies, and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
  • Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.
  • Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth.
  • Assists in education and development of staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to a professional, tolerant, and civil environment.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
  • BLS certification is required for every RN unless ACLS certification is current, in addition to any unit-specific certifications and competencies.
  • Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
  • Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained; responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

Work is considered medium and requires work indoors in a patient care environment.

Additional Requirements for Milford Regional

  • BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering, whichever is sooner.
  • PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering, whichever is sooner.
  • NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering, whichever is sooner.
